I do wish that the article would have had more information on general care and housing/handling. I bought my arg. b+w from bert and have the absolute utmost respect for the man and all he does. I just think that alot of readers might have missed out on the pet quality side of keeping tegus. There is not a more perfect large lizard pet in my opinion, and I WILL be getting a red in the nearest possible future(my wife glares as the reptile zoo grows more and more each day icon_twisted.gif ). i really enjoyed the breeding info, and LOVED the pick of the blue eating the jararaca viper. But again, I wish the public could have been more informed on how to take care of the magnificent beasties.

I have in mind to buy one of those Red Tegu. For some reason:
1) As the comment I read, they are suppose to be more submissive.
2) They are bigger
3) Easier to get in Canada
4) They are more beautiful
5) They eat more fruits and vegetables than meats which is easier for me financially
6) A bigger reptile is easier for me to handle.

Also I received my college answer for studying into animal health 2 days ago, I was happy to see that I am going to make my study into something related to zoology. Of course, I will basically works with cat, birds, rabbit and rats because there is only 1 session (4-5 month) related to exotic species. Mammals are the primaury experience subject, but I will probably learn a lot of good things about them. icon_biggrin.gif

About breeding, If I have enough money (in a couple years) I will probably breed the beautiful red Tegu. I will not sell them like 350$, I have in mind to sell them like, 75$-125$(depends of the behavior and size). icon_wink.gif

For the moment, I will start to buy one Tegu first lol! icon_lol.gif
