Ok so my tegu is young about 12 inches long. I feed him a rotation of crickets, frozen pinkies, and ground turkey with fruit. My question is can you over feed him? Or will he eat untill hes full and stop? My roomate feels like i feed him too many at a time. I want to know a ballpark of how many crickets i should feed him?

Meanah is right. You can feed your as much as he wants to.He will stop when he's not hungry any more. Please make sure that you give him the vitamine and calcium powder. Here is a care sheet from Rick ( the breeder ) so you know when you should give him the powder. Also try to give him some pinkies.Hope that helps.Do you have a picture of your Tegu.Don't worry you don't feed him to much. They need to eat a lot when they are that little because they grow very fast.I know some times it looks like there belly is going to pop icon_lol.gif .

I have a baby tegu as well, who is almost the same size(10 inches). Mine will eat until shes full and then plop down and wait to be placed back in her enclosure. Somedays she will eat 10 at a time, other times not quite as many. I would worry all the time when I first got her, but then I would see she ate till she was done and I was more relaxed. Its amazing how many crickets they can fit in them sometimes!
