Hi, We've had some problems latly. I have 2 bw tegu's i boy 1 girl... I had to trash thier cage about 3 months ago and I've been in and out of town since. I woke up today and noticed my male in real bad shape... His body is limp and he's loss alot of muscle mass and fat in his tail... He keep opening his mouth and sticks out his toung about half way. His eyes look great, but the rest of him is bad. i have a reptile expert to see mon at 11...none of the vets are any good around here and I'm feeding him baby food, calcuim, and centium vitamins. He's look very tired from this whole ordeal and I'm afaid he'll give up soon. Any body know what this could be and have any sugestions. It looks like his toung is spazing out, he curls it in his mouth and he keep gasping or small huffs. I need to get back to him Thanks

First off what and how are you keeping them now? How old or big is he? Baby food isn't enough for a larger lizard(really no lizard) It sounds like he is starved, dehydrated, and maybe over heated.

Well, unfortunatly My baby boy passed today. He was 3 and 4 1/2 feet long. I'm not sure what happened to him, but he will be missed. Thanks

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss Vince3267.May he R.I.P.

Reddawn.I don't want to be rude or get things heated but please don't say that Baby food isn't good for a lizard because I had to bring my Tegu to the vet before and he told me to force feed my Tegu some chicken or turkey / gravy baby food mixed with some warm water and vitamine and calcium powder and it worked great.I passed on the info on to some other members here on the forum and it helped them as well. It's not something I made up it came from a REPTILE vet.
