is this a problem?

he's had it for a long time, there is no discoleration, and he can close his mouth, but when relaxing it sticks open a bit like this.

Check your Dragons mouth.Squeeze it really gently to see if the jaws are soft and give.He might have mbd. That's how you would check it with the Tegus.Do you have a UVB ?

lol, he bites me when i touch his mouth. it's very firm though not squishy and all a very helthy looking red pink.

his light is a mercury vapor bulb. with 1" bars between him and the light so no real uvb loss there.

That is some great news.I know that lizards also keep there mouth open when they get a little bit to hot to breath better.I read that before because my bearded dragon did that. The temps were right but he still does it some times.Sorry about the biting part icon_lol.gif .Do you still have all your fingers icon_lol.gif ?

that looks familiar to me. is the bump a reddish/pink ? did you notice if it oozes ?
it reminds me of an abscess. if it's on a bony area like jaw, eye area or joints could cause further problems.

read these links and take a good look at your water dragon:

he's a real cutie !

lol, theres no bumps, thats skin, he's shedding right now.

anyone know if hydrogen peroxide is safe for reptiles to swallow in small amounts? i been using it to clean his mouth, learned that from a chinese waterdragoni had when i was a small child. but unlike the chinese, syro likes the taste or texture of the peroxide foam and tries to swallow most of it.

brazilian rainbow boa has to be one of the most beautiful snakes I have ever seen ! similiar to a ball python in temperament. not mean at all.
unique shed. like tegus, rainbow boas like at least 75% humidity.

Yes,hydrogen peroxide is safe but it should be deluded and done by a vet. That's what I read in this article.
