I live in central california (35 N) and i was wondering if this lattitude is to cold or lacks humidity for an Argentine Black and White Tegu.

If not, would making a "greenhouse" enclosure solve both of these problems?

Hi welcome to the forum!

For these question, can you give the lowest and highest temperature that this place can have?

As for humidity, you just need to make a plastic box with cypress mulch and humidify it as much as possible.

If you have generally a humidity level of 60-70 this is perfect. Also you can put a big water bowl, so they can bath a lot!

good luck! icon_biggrin.gif

you do not have to have high humidity in the whole enclosure?

The humidity were i live averages about 40% and the teperature can be below freezing on winter nights to over 110 on hot summer days.

oh...if it goes under freezing, you will need to bring him/them inside your house. Temperature should not be below 65degree.

As for humidity, during the hot season, it's hard to find the perfect humidity level (except argentine). So they will need a humidity hide just like an indoor enclosure. icon_wink.gif

Of course if all the enclosure has an humidity level of 70% this is perfect, but it will be hard to respect those number outside.

It seems that your place where you lived has very low temperature. So I would recommand to build an enclosure inside your house for 365/365 days and bring them outside for a nice Sunbath. icon_biggrin.gif

Good luck! have fun! icon_biggrin.gif
