Hi MELVIN.Welcome to the Tegu forum family.I'm sorry to hear that you got bitten by your snake ( it is a snake right ? or am I wrong ? if I am I'm sorry ) .I got bitten by my argentine black and white Tegu once on the cheek because he smelled some food on me.I know it hurts.Maybe it would help if you make sure that your snake isn't hungry at that time you put her to close to your face.I hope you didn't get hurt to bad.I wish you wouldn't gotten bit at all.Hope to see you around here on the forum some more.Oh,do you have a picture of your red Tail ? we always love to see some pictures.Thanks.

HAHAHA oh man. thats rich. was it a warning strike or a kill strike? (if the latter, how did you get him off?) you shouldve kept himt here and taken a picture. you know it wouldve been worth it.
chicken breath. i'm telling ya, once i held my hamster (i love my hamster) on a friday night after groxy my big tegu fell asleep, i forgot to wash my hands, and the next morning i woke up to her with her face stuffed in my hand breathing deep trying to smell it. soon as i moved my hand a bit, she opened her mouth to take a bite. it was only later i realized she smelled the hamster from the night before. if i haden't woken up she very well coulda taken a bite outa me!
my tegu loves chickens, i'd imagine your snake does too. _________________ 1.1.0 Arg B/W Tegu Joker n Groxy

Yeap, that will do it .At least with the Tegus you kind of know when they are going to bite because of that heavy breathing but with a snake you don't .
