Bert Langerwerf........Update

If you haven't heard, Bert is having a difficult time with his cancer )colon that spread to his liver). Bert owns Agama International, Inc (now for sale), and has done some great work with Argentine tegus. The following post is from his son and I cut and pasted it from kingsnake. if you feel led, please send a postcard ASAP. I don't think he has much time left. Just a week or so ago, his son said that Bert only had a matter of days/weeks left, according to his doc.

"I think it would be nice if Bert got some postcards for his room. Postcards can be send to the following address:

Bert Langerwerf

We will then take the postcards to his room at the hospital and stick them on the wall. He will like that very much. He thanks everybody for thinking about him and us.

The sooner the better, really. Time is of the essence, unfortunally.

Heres to Bert, Thank you for showing me the way to respect and Love the Argentine tegu and I would like to give him and his family my blessings.

I would like to say just how personable and great Bert is. He personally responeded to each and every email I ever sent him, clearly taking time form his life to help me with mine.

Mail him a card that his family can put him in his room!!! They want to surround him with the thoughts of others in his time of need. It only takes a few minutes and 42 cents. Even if you don't have a postcard, write something on a piece of paper!

I would love to be surrounded by so many kind words...

I will try but it I Think it would be great to get all the forums to wright what they felt about him then print out all the sheets of the people that wrote about him and that way he can read them all from a book with ease

Made a big card with groxy and spyro on the front for him. sending now.

I did it..... wow, Bert did so much for so many it is really sad He taught me alot about the argentine tegu and He also chated with me out side the box. I new he was going threw that for a couple years now and I know it must have been hard on his family as well my grandfather had same thing.

This is a great loss. Bert is an extremely knowledgable man who has been very generous with that knowledge. You can tell he loves teaching people as much as he loves reptiles. I had no idea he and his family were going through this.

i hope bert got his card, made it myself.
a little handwrote recounting on how he saved spyro's life by phone and how much that ment to me.

printed on cardstock on a really nice commercial printer. looked damn professional too.

I heard Bert has passed. will be cremated Tuesday, 8/12/08

what a tragic loss. my thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
