im using a 100 watt bulb and its up to 106.5, my tegu arrives tomorrow and im wondering if i should return the 100 watt and get a 75 watt

a red tegu, how exoctic looking they are. Congrats !
at one end of the enclosure (basking area) 90 - 110
at other end of the enclosure (cool end) around 70 and I always lik to include a moist hide box at the cool end for shedding purposes and so they have a 'safety'

110 is good uh? well mine is 108 so ill take your word for it seeing as u are the moderator. im gonna get a smaller rock and that should help as it wont be so tall.

I think your basking temps are fine. Remember that lizards will thermoregulate and if the temps are too warm, they will find the perfect spot for themselves as long as there is a temperature gradient across the enclosure. I think a 75 watt would be too cool.

u know to be honset they are fine basking should be up there, around 105 and if it gets too hot they know to just go to the cool end
