hi im new to this fourm and am getting a black and white tegu i cant wait i will keep it in a 55gal tank then when it out grows that ill move to its real encloser thats 8ft long 40in wide and 72 in high so i can get in i rilly cant wait till i get it i have been wanting one for 4 years im 12 now but my dad used to help me with most things but i take care of everything on my own now ill post pics when i get it icon_biggrin.gif

That's pretty cool icon_smile.gif I assume you've done your research? I also just picked up a 55 gallon to put my little tegu in when I get him on Wednesday. Where do you plan on ordering/buying one from?

Yeah Agama International has a very good reputation, however, I didn't think they had any tegus :/ I guess they still do?

i asked and if they had any 08 babys for sale they said 80 plus 40 shipping and they had babys

thanks for the replys just wanted to list some of my animals i had and have

have: gaint black and white tarantula, bearded dragon godzilla, turkish red colony, gargoyle gecko biff, tegu comming very soon

had: golith bird eater, 2 balled pythons, 1 carpet python, fence lizard (the lizard that got me into lizard keeping), 2 indian ornamentals, 5 collard lizards, 1 leapord gecko, water snake, green tree snake, sun tiger, greater horned baboon, sinipore blue tarantula, i have had more but cant think all most all of these were sold some of them died only two but i have kept alot and learned alot the fence lizard was wild caught i dident know how to take care of it lived 4 years but whow knows it was in the wild i have never kept fish did once died in 2 days icon_redface.gif my dad helped my alot im lucky my dad is like that my mom puts up with it but she likes lizards not snakes oh yea i had a snappin turtle and a couple salamanders thats a little about me and my animals

wow ! that is alot, alot of responsibility there. good going icon_cool.gif . it sounds as though you have wonderful, loving parents also. do you have any pics of all these pets. we would luv to see them.

I have alot of faith in you taking care of of your new tegu. I'm sure you know but always be careful and of course wash your hands before and after handling. one reasone being so they don't smell like food.

I luv new arrivals and I look forward to seeing your soon to be best buddy.

okay he shipped it 2 day icon_evil.gif he dident even give me the option for 1 day shipping
and on the web site it says we shipp ups like 1 day not very happy its getting in the low 50s to 40s in nebraska i cant rilly post pics of my animals the photos are way to big i cant resize them but i can change the size on the camera so i can post some pics of my tegu if it gets here alive i cant only hope but ill get my money back if it dies

did you talk to him by phone ? is he a reputable breeder ?

tegus tend to take the cold better then heat ..in general.

icon_biggrin.gif yea,I'm so happy for you.I know that you are going to love that Tegu.They are such great Lizards.It wouldn't surprise me if your mom gets hucked on that Tegu as much as you will be if not more icon_lol.gif .That happend to me icon_lol.gif .Do you have a name yet ? I can't wait to see some pics.I sure hope that they shiped that Tegu with a heat pad.
