Ameiva's - Edit - Added Some Pics

Anyone have any Ameiva's - I picked up 2 of them today - I will post pics tomorrow as they buried themselves and are sleeping right now - Was wondering If anyone had any experience raising these - any pointers so on and so forth

Sorry, I can't help you on that one. Honestly, I was looking at getting one before I decided on the tegu, but the one that they had was fast and "meanish" (bit immediately with no warning), so I decided it probably wouldn't be the best choice. (I get enough bites without warning from my snake!) I don't know if they all have a bad temper or not, but that one did. Anyway, I had done some research on them to make sure via the web and the truth is there isn't a whole lot of info out there on them! Hopefully someone can help you out, but I just did some general searches through Google and Yahoo. Best of luck with it. Can't wait to see the pics! (I think they are pretty.)

I was wondering the same thing some days ago as I saw some on sale on the 'for sale" sites they have here in the netherlands.
So keep me/us posted on how things turn out please.
And good luck with your Ameiva's !
Are they a couple? And if so, none related? Would make it even nicer!

Well I have not taken pics yet, but will get some soon - Anyway they are both female 1 at 12 inches, and the other at 8 inches - They seem to get along real well with each other playing and laying on top of one-another - Even curling up and sleeping together. Neither has tried to bite me at all.

They are extremely active like to crawl up the plant to the top of the tank, and like to push around the mulch - I have to clean their water bowl like 4 times a day from them playing and kicking up mulch in the bowl - As for now I have been feeding them around 20 crickets per day to share, and that seems to be fine with them - I'll get pics soon I promise - Someone has to be home with me as when I take them out of the tank, they like to play hide and seek - I've had them on my shoulders, and they have no fear of jumping off - very spunky these two are

i know smart butt, but that wouldnt help if i didnt know ameiva was a type of tegu int he first place, i just saw the topic and the pics, i thought maybe ameiva was the user who posted the pics, i didnt take time to look into it, i had about 8 other posts to read
