Whats the best way to raise the temp in that cage i just built i have a 100 watt heat bulb in it now i was gonna go buy a 150 watt but i dont know if that will be good enuff the 100 wat only keeps it at like 80 so suggestions

There's a lot of different ways to go. And there's a lot of factors that go into deciding which way to go. A lot depends on what kind of enclosure you have, the average ambient air temps of the room it's in, etc. As mentioned there's heat tape. There's also using a larger light like you already mentioned as well (a 250 watt mercury vapor would heat things up for sure). There's radiant heat panels. And there's ceramic heat elements. Do some research to figure out what's best for you and your particular set up. The kingsnake.com "cage and habitat" forum has lots of good info.

Firstly, I would say your heat source is too high up so you will have problems heating up a specific spot. Second, does the cage have a door, or does it just have an open section at the top above that plexi? If its open, you'll be losing a lot of heat that way as the heat rises and escapes.

I would - either put in some levels as Brisamen suggested in the other thread about the cage so that one is directly under the light giving you a hot spot, or lower the light so that its closer to the bottom of the cage. Secondly, if its open try and put some doors on there or something to keep the heat in.

its a sheet of plexi glass cut in half and the top has hinges so it folds open
