do you plan on keeping the pacu in there for life, or will you eventually upgrade? and yeah Oscars do get big but nowhere as big as a pacu

He is about 3 inches now but when gets huge, I have a 110 gal I can use.

I have seen Oscars up to 4lbs before. But you are right a Pacu can get 15lbs or more.

that my friend is a good indication that your from FL when you say how big a fish gets by weight rather than inches or feet

i had an oscar it got so big i made him a pond he got so huge. I cought a lizard and it jumped out my hand into the pod it was gone in a second. talk about out of the frying pan and into the fire.

You definately need to re-think this, Pacu's can get upto 80lbs for the Balcks, and 60lbs for the Red's.

I have 3 red's housed in a 120 UK Gallon tank (150 US gallon) and they have outgrown it in less than 1 year. They are about 15" in length, and weigh about 5 lbs so far. Oscars only get to about 15" or so, so my Pacu's at a year old, are already bigger than my 3 year old oscar.
