Personally, I would take the Australia pick, because who knows if you will ever get the chance to go back there again. Plus, how many people do you know personally that went there? Not many people get to go there and also get paid to do it. School will always be here when you come back, just make sure you go when you do get back... _________________ -Art-

Well I've known that I want to go for a long time.. the thing is I'm hesitant to do it alone. My brother was included in the offer, and he's actually met the guy from Australia. But he says he doesn't want to go because, get this, he doesn't want to leave his girlfriend for four months. Me and my mom and my dad need to convince him that she'll be there when he gets home, and that there are telephones in Australia. She goes to school in Windsor, a 6 hour drive away, and they hardly ever see eachother anyway. I don't know what to tell him to make him realise that he's never going to have a chance to do anything like this again. I mean really, the best anyone's ever going to get is maybe sometime in the next 20 years we could save up enough money to spend a week there, or anywhere. But we have the chance do actually live there for free and get paid for it. He doesn't get it. _________________ Visit www.reptileontario.com

(Newbie) Hello everyone! I spend quite a bit of time on this site, reading and checking up on info for my herps (its a great site) but this is my first time responding to anything. I'm in the military (U.S Army ) as a Operating Room and CMS Tech. I also want to be a Vet Tech but I haven't decided on how to do it. I'm in my final year of my enlistment and I don't know if i want to re-enlist with the way things are goin (Bush and Deployments and all). If i do;....I'll switch over to Vet Tech but that depends on what they have to offer for my re-enlistment. If not... there's always school as a civillian.
By the way;....RainbowParty, I love to travel and if it was me I'd do it in a heart beat. Australia.....yeah even though I'd probably be sent back for harrassing the Crocodile Hunter .

Man, if you have the chance go,i'm 99% sure you'll regret it if you don't. your brother doesn't want to come with you? fine, leave him back home, Aussies are very friendly and i'm sure you'll meet lots of very nice people.
I work for a major firewall company in the bay area of California as a business development engineer. That definitely helps me keep in the funds to procure the herps I desire. I currently have 1 leopard gecko, 1 african fat-tail gecko and 1 blue tongued skink. I actually just found out about tegus and have become completely enamored with them. At some point, I will purchase an argentine from agama, but will have to wait until I have more room in the house to build an enclosure that will house a full-grown tegu. My wife is anti-tegu, but I am certain she will come around when she sees just how cool they are.

Thanks. I think it is more about convincing her that it will be ok to get one sooner than later. She knows that once my mind is set on something, there is no stopping me, only delays. As for being 17, I totally hear you. Although, when I was that age, I went off to Costa Rica for the summer to work. Good experience. I think I remember reading on here that you or someone else was possibly going to Australia? It is a good thing to do. Get out, get wordly, meet people, have experiences no one else in your age group will have.

I'm a RVT (Registered Veterinary Technician). I've been working with animals for ever and love it. I just started working for a vet who is one of the herp specialists in my area so I get to see a lot of intersting animals. Besides that if one of my guys get sick I don't have to pay for treatment. Yipee!!!

Well it's next to impossible to become a vet so I'm currently in school to become a fireman paramedic. I'm not sure what but I'll probably pick up a 2nd job or start my own company. _________________ John Light

I am a courier at FedEx and love it. The huge discounts that we get on shipping will definitely come in handy if i ever start breeding anything. I live in Mississippi, and the demand for reptiles isn't as high as other states. My wife and I were hoping to someday open a reptiles only store just for fun, but would probably have to rely solely on online purchases. MS is definitely a furry pet state.
