I dont get the water thing.

What do you call someone who picks up an animal who looks like its drowning? Umm thats the smart thing to do is to remove the animal.

Definition of Hero: champion: someone who fights for a cause

Sounds like he was sure fighting to keep that lizard alive. I would call him a hero too.

Louise- sorry I kind of sounded rude in that last post. I do know what you do for your animals, especially Chance. I just dont see how rtb can ban the man.

rehab, do you not get the part that he put the lizard in the water so he could play hero and save it. why are you not getting that? read his day number 34 of training, it is in black and white.

Looks like I need to read it. Sounds like hes giving it a bath, but I'll go read it.

then it is a burden i will bare. nothing you or anybody on this planet could ever get me to not love brett. plain and simple, i dont lie about that.

This person is vicious
have you ever met him in person? i have. he is far from vicious. he loves his wife and his critters and it surely shows. he is one of the best people i ever got the pleasure of meeting.

Or perhaps it is that you only love animals?
i do love chance way more then many people. last i knew brett was a human and i love him.

Brett is a disgrace to the human race and you don't show much promise, yourself.

once again, last night i said again that i was gonna give you a chance, putting that lizard in the water was way wrong but we all make mistakes. i cannot be your friend if this is how you feel about me or brett. i do not want to communicate with you in private messages in chat or on any threads. it is a shame cause i honestly enjoy/respect what you are striving for. but as i said a few posts up...if this is all about brett bashing i am gone. when you bash brett it hurts me the same as if you were doing it to a blood family member. me, i dont give a crap about what you say, you can bash me all day and night. well good luck on what you are trying to do and bye.

rehab, this is what danceswithsavs wrote,

He has started the day with the same rage. Touching his 'jail box' elicited much hissing from within. We decided to put him in the bathtub with deep water in order to exhaust him and then be the 'heroes' that 'rescue' him.

i am sorry but that is just wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

to clarify, I dont believe that some form of training is a negative thing - how else would a number of people have tame adult lizards? I myself handled my tegu a great deal as he grew up, and so he is accustomed to humans. Im all for working with "pet" lizards to ensure that they lead relatively stress-free lives in their captive environment (after all, a terrified lizard that has never grown up with regular, nonthreatening human contact and is still expected to be grabbed by its owner will have a stressful existence indeed). I would consider this taming, or maybe training, and so Im not against it in case that was the impression that was exuded (although I did think I took great pains to make that clear in my original post). I personally am just sceptical of your methods. I dont suppose that matters much in the scheme of things - I just thought I would point out that, because some people arent using handfeeding and teaching their lizards to "kiss" doesnt mean that we are neglecting to ensure our animals are handlable and comfortable in a human world. Im not sure if this is what you were implying, but it was the impression I got and thought I would point it out.

Just read about the water situation.

Though I don't believe it was a just and moral decision to do, I think you have learned from this stunt not to do it again. I try not to hold grudges and scowled people for the rest of their life for one mistake.

Other than that, I will help support you, but the hero thing kind of made my skin tense up.

observe how a young unsavvy sav's slip in the tub has been turned into drownings and abuse.
our brett even dreamed up a snuff video to make the story better.
and i've got all the forum pages cached, so deleting them won't make any difference. They will be appearing on my site unless somebody, who i won't name but whose initials are BRETT, makes a public apology and makes a credible demonstration of sincere remorse for leaping in on the slander party with and claiming the trophy for most provacative propaganda. Snuff videos, really. And you crying that i'm bashing him? Something isn't right, here.

Some ppl can't be convinced by evidence and will see what they want to see or what they are told to see.
Buzzy and Lilly have a bath every day (except if they sleep through a day). They like it- even tho albig-crazy says Buzzy is bloated and stressed in the vid.
That's their routine: bath, poop, breakfast, romp, cuddle, romp, nap on someone, romp, massage, [refrain]
putting your hand in the water for a monitor to hang on to is a great way for him to learn to trust hands. Under no other circumstance does a little one welcome being grabbed.
They have no way out of the tub when they are small, so when they do want to come out- hands rescue them by airlift and they get to think hands are pretty good things to have around.

There is no threat of harm. Comical description doesn't change the facts that occurred. Buzzy was angry, he got to go in the tub. I, personally, find it uncomfortable to have my adrenaline up and i've run around the block a few times in the past month over this very issue. Well, it works for me to run it off; so, the record would seem to indicate, did it work for Buzzy. He had a bath the day before and he had a bath the day after. The only remarkable thing about the bath picked out for discussion was that my wife panicked.

did you forget you wrote this??? you put him in a bath tub of Deep water to exhaust him and then play hero. that is not a normal bath. you did it to play hero. i will always find that wrong but i would have continued to support you. but you keep attacking me and i dont need that.

let me put it this way, your wife is sick and i am very sorry about that. but what if you met someone who helped you cure her? someone who gave you thier home phone number and didn't care what time you called? someone who saved her life? brett did that when chance was so sick and he helped me more then her vet (her vet is a wonderful person too)
let me tell you a little story. when i joined RTB about 4 years ago, me and brett hated each other. i mean i really hated him bad. he had no special love for me either. lol. i would post pictures of me kissing my snake (didn't have chance yet) he would post that i was gonna get bit right in the face. i would get furious, no way was my little baby snake that i loved so much gonna bite me. thiskept going on and you know what? my first bite was right on the face from that exact snake. i was so upset that i had tears in my eyes, not because it hurt (it didn't) but because brett was right. i surely wouldn't admit he was right and i use to post things like 'maybe you snakes will bite you but mine would never bite me, i spend to much time with them' i even told brett he should only be able to own a pet rock and nothing living. but after i got my forst bite i started realizing that mostly everything this jerk said was right. i would read thread where people had sick snakes and brett would tell them what to do. a week later that person would be on thanking brett up and down. so i did start reading anything he posted and absorbing it. but i still hated him with a passion.

then i got the call from my nephew about chance. i wa still very new to snakes and i now had one that was konocking on heavens door. of course i started psoting on RTB begging for help.

all of a sudden i got a PM from brett. i was positive that message was to tell me i had no business trying to save a snake when i was so new to snakes. i didn't open that PM fro 3 days.
finally a friend of mine on chat convinced me to read it.
you know what it said? brett had gien me his phone number and told me if i needed any help to call him and he would walk me through it. he even told me he would teach me how to shringe her water. she was getting antibiotic shots at the time and they need lots of water.

okay so this mean vicious evil man was offering his help. he helped me so much through all 3 surgerys and shots and everything. after chances 3rd surgery i brought her home and she started puking up blood! i went insane. i was crying and shaking and screaming. my daughter came running in the room and said she would call the vet, i stopped her and told he to call brett first. i wasn't even rational. i was hysterical. brett calmed me down and explained to me exactly what was going on. after talking to him i called the vet, the vet told me word for word what brett did.

now you can condemn me for comparing a snake to a human, but i love her as much as anyone can love anything and brett helped save her life. so be mad at me for not turning on him or condemning him, it will never happen. he hated me and i hated him. but in my time of need he put it all aside and was right there for me and chance.
