If you REALLY insist on wanting to use feeder fish, at least freeze them first and then feed them thawed. This will eliminate any problems with parasites. I don't know about your tegus, but mine don't care one bit if their food is alive or frozen/thawed. There's no real benefit to feeding live.

Some parasites can live through a standard freezing process, but you are right. Freezing would reduce the risk conciderably. Also, welcome to thetegu.com
Thanks for the welcome Rick. By the way, although I live in Virginia these days, I lived in Maine for a very long time (noticed your location). Was just up there a few weeks ago actually. Drink a Geary's (or 12) for me.
