Hello again everyone!
I got my baby argentine b&w tegu on Tuesday.
I ordered her from LLLreptile and she looks great and right out of the box she is very sweet and
not skiddish at all! She's about 9 inches in length.
The problem I'm having is I wanna get her to eat...she's being so stubborn. I have tried crickets,
superworms, ground turkey, and Healthy herp meat mix...she took one little nibble from that. I know
some people said give her time, but I don't wanna do everything wrong. Next I'm gonna try some fruits and mixed veggies.
Her enclosure:
Large clear 40 gal sterilte container (only temp. we are gonna build her 6x2x3 in a few weeks...I plan on having her out most of the time.)
Cypress Mulch
Current Basking Temp 101.2 (I've tried higher like 110, but I think she gets too warm and won't bask long.)
Ambient Temp 82
Heat Lamp over basking area.
UVB 5.0 Slim line fixture length of enclosure.
Under her log I have 2 small heat pads on the bottom of the container. (She loves to burrow in that spot under the cypress at bedtime.)
And I make sure to mist her enclosure regularly (80%)
Any suggestions?
Can anyone guesstimate hatch date/month since she is 9 inches or is that not possible?
Thanks for any help or suggestions!
