Yeah, I plan on having one or two on-hand here in Sacramento for the Winter. Our Winters are very mild compared to some places, but it *does* drop into the 30s at night, and The Boyfriend and I don't really use our heater, so we'll need to keep our little ones warm somehow.

I have a heat emitter on my Red Eared Sliders Tank and they love it...I need to buy another. I live in PA...it won't be long till the weather starts to turn cold...lol!!! I bought a zilla one
from petstore.com it was under $20 and they have zoomed ones under $26....pretty good prices considering petco and others... are too expensive!!

She ate her first pinkie today...I was thrilled...doesn't take much!LOL

She is a little stinker with eating 1. Can't eat same type of food 2 days in a row, 2. Only wants to eat between 2:30-4:30 pm...I am so not making that one up & Finally this little turd refuses crickets and superworms/mealworms (haven't tried roaches yet, waiting for the colony to grow)!! Other foods A-OKAY! Are all tegu's this quirky/picky with eating?

Aside from being picky...one week has passed since I got her and I am shocked I can actually tell she has grown and thankfully her little belly is plumpie!! I know everyone says they grow super fast, but dang!! I ordered a new scale since we broke our old one and I'm anxious to weigh her and keep track.

They definitely develop their own favorites and dislikes as far as food goes. But it is very easy to give in to every whim and spoil them. They take advantage of this and then go through life and your household with a strong sense of entitlement.

They are so funny! I just love their unique personalities! Now I know why most members here have more than one!!! Pikey...do you feed scrambled eggs? Do you do raw? Some places I read say raw and then other people have said no raw!! Sometimes(most times) there are more experts on these forums than anywhere else! The collective experience of a lot of owners really helps newbies like me.
